George Washington SHERBONDY (1238) (NOTE: This relationship of Catharina Elisabeth Schmidt as the mother of George Washington Sherbondy is not 100% confirmed due to 3 significant discrepancies. 1) The birth record and census record show Catherine as his mother's name whereas his death certificate (informant Frank, his son) names Mary Ferts as his mother's name, 2) The transcribed birth record has a birth date of 14 Aug 1836 whereas multiple later records have a birth date of 16 Aug 1830, 3) the middle name Washington appears only in the birth record whereas only the letter W. appears in multiple later records. Other records which are needed to help confirm this identity: copy of the original church birth record, census records for 1830 and 1840, marriage record)4,8 married Clara Hattie Leckenby (1238).25,26 He was born on 16 Aug 1830 in Leachbury, Westmoreland, PA (age 20 in 1850 census).4,8 He died on 20 Aug 1914 in Benkelman, Dundy, NE, at age 84.4
